Excellent reputation, international renown: the iF design awards
A successful 60-year history speaks for itself: since 1953, we have recognized outstanding design as assessed by international expert juries. Manufacturers and designers working in product design, communication design and packaging design can submit their work in three disciplines. An opportunity that is used by large international groups, by small and medium sized companies, by agencies and by design studios.
Today, the iF design awards are among the largest and most important international design awards: the iF label is a seal of quality known all over the world.
If you design, develop or manufacture a product, you want it to be used. If you buy a product, you want to know that it's useful. In both cases, the iF product design award is the best possible confirmation: a product that succeeds here has thoroughly proven its superior value.
As a seal of quality the iF label provides manufacturers with a convincing advertising instrument and it gives users a basis for decision-making. Additionally, participants in the iF product design award are guaranteed to receive the widest publicity and greatest possible attention in the media: something, you can only get with one of the longest-standing and most important design awards in the world.
To assess the entries being submitted to the iF competitions each year internationally renowned experts from the fields of design, industry and education are being invited to the iF jury sessions.
Behind closed doors, the jury members closely inspect, touch, analyze and test each contribution, and, most importantly: each entry is being discussed thoroughly. Although each entry is being evaluated on the basis of clearly formulated criteria, each jury member brings his own individual perspectives to the table as well as his comprehensive expertise, longstanding experience and a feel for future trends.
We always officially honor the winners of the iF awards competitions!
How, when and where, however, can be very different. Whether as a “main act” at official Opening Ceremonies, as a program highlight at international trade shows or with specially organized, glamorous Awards Ceremonies – the award winners are always the ones in the limelight!
Of course, we also want to show you the winners of our annual iF design awards. We do this in different exhibitions at various locations around the world.
There’s a lot to see and the range is enormous: outstanding product, communication and packaging design from all over the world – from a yacht to shop design, from websites to Christmas mail. The exhibitions reflect international design trends, highlight new perspectives and, in addition to an overview of the present, they also afford an outlook on the design of the future.
