Young & Design is an industrial design competition for young under 35 that takes place at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. It was founded in 1987 by Flavio Maestrini and is currently managed by Rima publisher. The competition aims to encourage young designers presenting innovative projects that take away from what is already in the history of industrial design and in the current market.
The jury is composed of academics from universities in which there is the industrial design course.
Among the winners were: Mauro LippariniI, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Mario Mazzer, Fabio Novembre, Giuseppe Bavuso, Jean Marie Massaud, Paola Palma, Roberto Palomba, Matteo Ragni, Daniele Lago, Lorenzo Damiani, Davide and Gabriele Adriano and Charles Vannicola.
Since 1995 is also attributed to the recognition of an "apostle of design", attributed to the career. Among the winners Bruno Munari.
