The UL GREENGUARD certification for low chemical emission products confirms our commitment to healthier indoor environments, ensuring compliance with major chemical emission standards.
Daily exposure to chemicals commonly occurs in indoor environments. Called volatile organic compounds (VOCs), these substances are used in the production and maintenance of building materials, furniture production, cleaning products, and personal care. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has found that VOCs circulate in indoor air at levels two to a thousand times higher than outdoors, causing health problems with long-term exposure.
The furniture and materials used in indoor environments can significantly affect the air quality we breathe. For this reason, the UL GREENGUARD Gold certification obtained by Gaber ensures products that meet strict VOC emission standards: all furniture is suitable for environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.
UL GREENGUARD Gold certified products must also meet the requirements of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) standard method. The certification can contribute to earning credits in building assessment programs such as LEED and BREEAM.
